I work with an idiot.

I’m not exaggerating. In fact, I’ve decided that I’m going to start building little posts around his stupidity. These emails, guys, you’re going to love it. This is what I will now call The K-Rid Segment.

I’ll just post a few sentences of his ridiculous emails, and let you guys see what I deal with on a daily basis.

And before you ask how this guy has a job and whatnot, I will say that he some how gets it done. I don’t know how, he just does.

Fall TV Preview 2008 - 2009 - Returning Shows

The returning shows for the 2008 - 2009 Fall TV schedule are beasts. Needless to say, thanks to the writer’s strike, a lot of shows managed to stick around. Thankfully, I like a majority of them. So, I’ll save my fingers and get right to the preview. For a recap of the new shows, please check it out HERE.

Monday

Dancing w/ the Stars | ABC - Considering the fact I have no plans to watch Dancing with the Stars, in case Diabla decides she wants to, at least there will be some ladies to look at. The list includes - Brooke Burke, Toni Braxton (who was hot 10 years ago?), Misty May-Treanor, Kim Kardashian and uber-sex Susan Lucci!!! Plus a couple of the dancers are usually skillets, and that Carrie Ann is kind of soy-saucy.

Big Bang Theory | CBS - I still love this show. It’s funny, dumb and it has Kaley Cuoco. It still doesn’t add anymore skillets, though. Doesn’t matter, because I’m still watching it.

How I Met Your Mother | CBS - Easily one of the best comedies on TV. Of course, the two ubercuties, Cobie Smulders and Alyson Hannigan are back, and you can always count on NPH to wrestle up some ladies.

Gossip Girl | The CW - GG is in a league of it’s own. I mean, what are you going to do with a cast of Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Taylor Momsen and Jessica Szohr? Yeah, it doesn’t get much better than Gossip Girl.

Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles | Fox - Terminator was one of those shows that came in late, and then got screwed by the strike. I didn’t watch an episode, but it does have Summer Glau, and that’s enough for me. How has she not been a Skillet of the Week yet?

Chuck | NBC - Chuck turned out to be the new show of the year last year, when you don’t count Gossip Girl. How crazy is it that they were both created by Josh Schwartz, who also created The OC. This guy needs to be the Toph Speaks Man of the Year. Chuck still has Yvonne Strzechowski and Sarah Lancaster, and if we’re lucky, we can get Rachel Bilson to make another appearance!

Two and a Half Men | CBS - I’m still so down on this show. I’ve got no desire to watch it. Therefore, no skillets this year!

Samantha Who? | ABC - I actually feel bad for Christina Applegate and her breast cancer fiasco. But, the cancer is gone, and she gets new boobs! Diabla loves this show, and I still think Christina Applegate is hot. Also, as it turns out, Jennifer Esposito is a lot cuter than I gave her credit for.

One Tree Hill | The CW - Looks like it’s finally the last season for One Tree Hill. Yeah, I’m kind of mad that I won’t be able to see Sophia Bush each week, but I’m sure I’ll survive. Last year, the brought in this nanny, played by Torrey DeVitto who was… um… special. For the love, please bring her back. Of course, OTH still has our favorites - Hilarie Burton and Bethany J. Galeotti.

Prison Break | Fox - Yup… You can still count me out on this. Ugh… Negative

*(Midseason Return) Rules of Engagement | CBS - I started coming around on this. It’s actually kind of funny. Patrick Warburton freakin’ kills me. Plus, Bianca Kajilich is still hot, and I even started thinking Megyn Price was oddly hot. Although, no photo confirms my feelings.

Heroes | NBC - Honestly, I have no idea what’s even going on with Heroes anymore. But, it’s gotten “super bad… and sexy.” So, that helps. Of course, Hayden Panettiere is all we really need for 2 skillets. Heroes steps it up and adds Dania Ramirez, Ali Larter and, with any luck, Kristen Bell is back. That’s enough to raise a skillet this year.

Boston Legal | ABC - Boston Legal moves into the late Monday night slot. They lost some skillets last year, but did manager to add Saffron Burrows. We’re not watching this show for the skillets, are we?

CSI: Miami | CBS - I have no desire to rate any CBS show from this point forward. The whole network is a let down from this moment on.

Tuesday

NCIS | CBS - See what I mean? Let. Down. Negative

House | Fox - I’m just not sold on Jennifer Morrison. Christian thinks she’s the cat’s pajamas, so I’ll toss her a Skillet this year.

The Biggest Loser: Familes | NBC - FAT FAMILIES!!! NO!!!!!! Negative

Eli Stone | ABC - Eli Stone shocked the hell out of me last year. I was fully expecting it suck hard (and why has no one mentioned that Eli is played by Jonny Lee Miller… Crash Override from Hackers). Everyone knows that Natasha Henstridge is a sexy lady, but I didn’t expect Julie Gonzalo to be so cute (excuse the photo). Watch this show… it’s good.

Without a Trace | CBS - Fuck you, CBS.

Law & Order: SVU | CBS - Fuck you so hard.

Wednesday

Pushing Daisies | ABC - It’s not only what Ryan does in a toilet, it’s also a clever TV show on ABC. Where it survives in the new year is up for debate, but the two chicks, Anna Friel and Kristin Chenoweth are quite cute. I didn’t have much hope for this show last year, but it surprised me.

New Adventures of Old Christine | CBS - Yeah, I can’t say I’ve seen a whole episode. I also can’t say that Julia Louis-Dreyfus is hot. Don’t get me wrong, I would, but she’s getting old. I’ll toss the old gal a

America’s Next Top Model | The CW - You know, I’m taking away a skillet this year. Mainly because Tyra crapped herself. I couldn’t figure out if that deserved another skillet, or what…

Bones | Fox - Has anyone ever watched Bones? I hear it’s a decent show, and it has Emily Deschanel. Yup, it’s Zooey’s sister. And that’s good enough for

Private Practice | ABC - It was no surprise that this show wasn’t good. It could have hot chicks, if you’re 40. Kate Walsh is sometimes hot, and, oddly enough, I’ve always had a thing for Amy Brennemen. It’s weird, I know, but she just does it for me.

Criminal Minds | CBS - I don’t even know why I bother reviewing CBS shows. Seriously. Not this year!

‘Til Death | Fox -Honestly, I’ve watched this show once. It wasn’t funny. It also doesn’t have any chicks, so don’t get your hopes up. Sorry.

Deal or No Deal | NBC - It’s show that features models. What more do you want? Katie Cleary, Anya Monzikova, Brooke Long, Keltie Martin, Lindsay Clubine… I mean… damn.

Dirty Sexy Money | ABC - I’m still not sure how I feel about this show. It’s going to need to step it up if I’m going to become a regular review. Part of that will be giving Samaire Armstrong a little more face time. Of course, Natalie Zea isn’t too bad herself.

CSI:NY | CBS - Not going to do it, CBS.

(If you’re wondering where Lost is, ask stupid ABC. It won’t be back till February.)

Lipstick Jungle | ABC - Diabla and I went back and forth on this show. It’s decent, and Kim Raver is OK. Really, if it weren’t for Lindsay Price, it would have no hope.

Thursday

Ugly Betty | ABC - I’m going to give you the exact preview as last year, but update the photos. OK? Another past Skillet of the Week winner, Becki Newton, is so special. Add her to cast of Rebecca Romijn, Ana Ortiz, plus a slew of hot extras and you have success. And you know what? America Ferrera is cute as shit, too.

Smallville | The CW - I thought Smallville was slowly coming to an end, but it looks like it’ll still be kicking into this season, and possibly after. Sadly, it looks like Kristen Kreuk won’t be there anymore. However, you can count on Laura Vandervoort Allison Mack and Erica Durance to keep things awesome.

The Moment of Truth | Fox - I actually hate this show so much. It’s the one with the lie detector test, and they have to guess if they told the truth or not. It’s fucking stupid.

My Name is Earl | NBC - Still a funny show, and Jaime Pressly and Nadine Velazquez are as lethal of a combination as they come.

Grey’s Anatomy | ABC - Yeah, I’m kind of down on this show. It just hasn’t been good since the second season. Maybe this year they’ll kill Katherine Heigl. Say what you will about her, but there’s no denying how hot she is.

CSI | CBS - Damnit, CBS!?!?!

Supernatural | The CW - Yeah, I still don’t know how this came out of The CW. A show with no chicks? Really? Negative

Kitchen Nightmares | Fox - I love this show so much. Chef Gordon Ramsey is hilarious, and the show is great. But, no, there aren’t any chicks.

The Office | NBC - Easily the funniest show on TV, and last season Jenna Fischer got even cuter. Also, don’t sleep on, Melora Hardin as Jane. She’s quite special.

30 Rock | NBC - The Office is the funniest show on TV, but 30 Rock isn’t too far behind. Of course it has Jane Krakowski and Katrina Bowden, but I’m sticking by Tina Fey being an unsung Skillet hero.

ER | NBC - Sadly, this is the final season for ER. The good news (if anyone is still watching) Noah Wiley is coming back. I always like him on that show. Why he’s nothing outside of it is beyond me. Angela Bassett will be on ER this year. My friend, Paul, used to want her to kick his has, then make love to him. I’ve always always been a big fan of Maura Tierney, especially in her News Radio days. Linda Cardellini has been around for sometime, and she’s a skillet. And, of course, the cutiest Indian-Brit there is, Parminder Nagra.

Friday

I’m cutting Friday out this year. You shouldn’t be watching TV on Friday. Go out, and drink.
Sunday (The shows that matter)

Desperate Housewives | ABC - Apparently, Eva Longoria will be ugly this season. WHYYYYY?!?!?!! Well, at least we’ll still have Felicity Huffman (who has something going for her), Teri Hatcher (who is getting old), Nicollette Sheridan (I’m trying here) and Marcia Cross (I don’t care what you say… she’s hot). Lastly, when we’re lucky, we get Joy Lauren.

Cold Case | CBS - Suck it, CBS.

Brothers & Sisters | ABC - Well, I guess Emily Van Camp will still be on the show. That means something, right? Whatever, I still think it’s a good show. I just don’t get why Emily Van Camp isn’t a bigger deal.

The Unit | CBS - Well, CBS, we’ll always have Monday’s…..

Scrubs | ABC -Scrubs is slated to come back on ABC midseason, which is pretty cool.

Las Vegas | NBC - They have, sadly, cancelled Las Vegas. I think it’s pretty fucking stupid, too.

Friday Night Lights | NBC - At least NBC has done something right, in a growing list of wrongs. FNL will be coming back at midseason. You know what that means… we’ll welcome Minka Kelly, Aimee Teegarden and Adrianne Palicki back with open arms. Aimee Teegarden lives in Ray’s building in Austin, and Ed spotted Minka Kelly at his restaurant in Austin. Bastards.

What a strange TV season this is for new shows. Basically, due to the writers strike, there aren’t too many new ones out there. All that means is a lot of shows we enjoyed last year are coming back! But, before we get into the old, let’s take a look at the new Fall Shows for the 2008 - 2009 season.

America’s Toughest Jobs | NBC - Average people do tough jobs, and no one cares. Fall is not for reality TV, NBC. Shame on you for making it that way. Where’s Heroes? Oh, it doesn’t start till the 22nd with a 3 hour “event”, which means 2 hours of catching up and 1 hour of a new show. I hate the events. Negative to start for you, NBC.

Worst Week | CBS - Fuck my life, CBS. Worst Week is Meet The Parents hit with the ugly stick. At this point, I’d even take Blythe Danner, that hot little minx. Negative

My Own Worst Enemy | NBC - Christian Slater is back, and this time he’s serious. Here’s the good news, Saffron Burrows, of The Bank Job and Boston Legal, is in, but she’s not playing his wife. That “honor” goes to Yara Martinez, who isn’t too bad. I’ll give a couple skillets for Saffron.

Tuesday

Opportunity Knocks | ABC - Looks like Tuesday is going to be the new Monday, at least in terms of new shows. This is good, because Tuesday was the only night I wasn’t glued to the TV. Opportunity Knocks, however, is stupid. Ashton Kutcher (why are we letting him do stuff?) brings the game show to you! And I kill myself. Negative

90210 | The CW - So, I’ll admit that I haven’t seen a full episode of the original 90210. Before you go and call me a liar, remember I’m the guy who admits to having watched Dawson’s Creek, Gossip Girl, Smallville and One Tree Hill religiously. The show was just on before I got into TV. With that said, the new 90210 is a joke. That is, unless you girls. Then, this show is for you. Shenae Grimes - skillet. Jessica Lowndes - skillet. AnnaLynne McCord - skillet. The Mentalist | CBS - Come on, CBS. Give us SOMETHING!!! Negative

The Privileged | The CW - You have to hand it to The CW. They just toss as many chicks into one show as possible, and hope it sticks. “Who cares if the show is terrible, we have chicks!” - The CW. Here’s the skillet rundown - Ashley Newbrough, Lucy Kate Hale, JoAnna Garcia, and kind of Kristina Apgar. The CW came to play this year.

The Fringe | Fox - Any show with Joshua Jackson deserves a skillet… wait… ummm… no skillets awarded.

Wednesday

Gary Unmarried | CBS - There’s a reason Gary is unmarried. He has mediocre chicks running around. I’d be unmarried, too. Negative

Knight Rider | NBC - They’re bringing Knight Rider back, and the fucking car is a Mustang. KITT must be rolling in his used car lot. I’m sure there will be a few chicks, but you’re not going to watch this show, right? Here’s a just in case you do.

Do Not Disturb | Fox - Will someone please tell Jerry O’Connell that he’s not funny? But, he brings some ladies to the table. Here’s the good news - Molly Stanton. Here’s the bad news - Jolene Purdy (the joke writes itself). However, we’ll overlook it all, because apparently Audrina Patridge is going to be on the show!

Thursday

Kath & Kim | NBC - OK, so hotness isn’t oozing from this show, but it looks damned funny. Plus, I think Selma Blair is cute and Molly Shannon rocks.

Saturday Night Live: Weekend Update | NBC - On Thursdays… I don’t think Amy Poehler is going to be on this, but it’s still going to be worth watching. No skillets, but a good time anyways.

Life on Mars | ABC - Stop me if you’ve heard this - Guy slips into a coma, and wakes up as a cop in another times period. Is anyone watching this? Negative

Eleventh Hour | CBS - You knew by the title this was a CBS show. Add a little cop, a little Sci-Fi and you have a recipe for a CBS drama. Actually, this one adds Marley Shelton, but I still won’t watch. I will give her 2 skillets, though.

Friday

Crusoe | NBC - This is based on a novel, but I’m not going to take the time to see what it’s about. Anna Walton is in it, and she’s pretty. Unfortunately, THIS is the only photo I could find. For that it only gets

The Ex List | CBS - OK, I was totally ready to blow past this show, but after looking at some screencaps, I’m interested. Elizabeth Reaser, who I shouldn’t know from Grey’s Anatomy, looks better than she did then. And, Rachel Boston, who I also shouldn’t know from Grey’s Anatomy (shoot me), isn’t bad, either. Skillet of the Week… Zooey Deschanel

Maybe you haven’t heard yet, but Zooey Deschanel is hot. Brown hair, blue eyes, hot. She’s not your usual TophSpeaks, bra and panties soaking wet kind of chick, but hey, she’s still got things happening.

Let’s talk about who she is, just in case you actually don’t know. She was in a few movies, and had some decent roles, but it wasn’t until Elf, with Will Ferrell, that Deschanel started to catch some eyes (mine in particular). As good as Will Ferrell was, she pretty much stole the movie. I don’t remember seeing her much till Failure to Launch (Diabla made me watch), and again, she stole the movie.

Since then, she’s had steady work, and is in the band She & Him, who coincidentally, are pretty good.

My Night at Fenway : Rangers – Red Sox

There’s a lot of ways I want to start this story, because there’s so much to tell I don’t know where to start. I guess I’ll start by saying I got to witness one of the best baseball games I’ve ever seen in my life, and I got to see it in Fenway Park my first time ever in Boston.

Let’s get into why I was there briefly (as you know, with me, nothing is brief). I was in Boston to attend the Affiliate Summit East convention. I always had plans to attend this game, however, I was about 5 minutes from not going at all. In the beginning, my company was buying a suite to the game, and taking our top clients. Well, that fell through. Next, I was attending the game with some clients of mine who were buying a block of tickets at $300 a piece, but they didn’t want to do that. Finally, I was sitting in my hotel room asking Twitter whether or not I should go to the game.

This was my first time in Boston, and it’s not like getting chance to go to see the Rangers in Fenway on a night that I’m in town happens very often. I’d say the chance of these things coinciding are once in a lifetime. Despite coming from a bachelor party, a wedding, a canceled flight and 5 straight nights of drinking till 2am, I said, “OK, I’m going to the game alone.” Baseball is the only place I don’t mind attending alone. In fact, I prefer to go alone, because it allows me to get lost in the game. Not worrying about anything other than the game is what makes baseball what it is.

I didn’t want to pay $100 for a ticket since I was scalping, so I waited a bit. OK, I waited a half of an inning, and bought my ticket to Fenway for $60. I was headed to Seat 5, Row 11 in the Grandstand.

I’m going to try and describe what it was like walking into the ballpark. It’s going to be hard, because at the conference I learned that adjectives are the devil in the copy writing seminar, but here we go. Have you ever been somewhere so amazing that goose bumps popped up spontaneously? I’ve had them a couple of times, one at my wedding, and another at a Dave Matthews concert when he played 2 Step. Walking through the gate you almost feel like you’ve suddenly become this tremendous part of history. The things that have happened in this ballpark, the joys, pains, beers, the greats and everything that has made Boston baseball what it is suddenly becomes a part of you. And it’s not lost on me that I’m a Yankees fan, either.

I finally make it to my seat with David Ortiz on deck. I get there, with my Rangers hat on, and immediately start hearing it from the fans around me. I’m smack-dab in the middle of an Internet Security company located in Boston, and they’re giving me hell. Not like intimidating I’m-Gonna-Kick-Your-Ass hell, but more along the lines of friendly jabbing. Look, they know they’re Boston. They know what it’s like to support a loser, and they’re very kind with the success they’re having. It almost seemed like they felt bad because they were having so much winning. Like they don’t deserve it. Does that make sense? It’s not just with baseball, but with football, and basketball, too. They seem scared that if they act a certain way everything will change. I even got an apology for all the winning.

David Ortiz officially welcomed me to Fenway Park with a monster 3 run homerun. This was the first hit I’d see in Fenway Park. To see Big Pappi drive a homerun over the wall is like watching Ron Jeremy pound Jenna Jameson. No matter how many times you’ve seen it, it’s still beautiful, and even more so when seen in person.

The crowd went berserk. I’ve seen homeruns before. I was there when Bonds hit 715 to pass Babe Ruth. This crowd made the people in AT&T Park that day look foolish. Again, I’m between all of these hardcore Sox fans, and they’re slapping my back, and putting their Boston hats over my Rangers hat. Everyone is laughing and having so much fun. You would have thought this was to clinch the World Series, not a regular game against a meaningless opponent. I’ve never seen so many fans genuinely happy to be near each other in these cramped, uncomfortable seats. It was almost like everyone was a best friend since birth. I don’t mean just the company I was in the middle of either. Everyone was family.

It didn’t end there, either. Still in the 1st 7 more runs cross the plate, leaving the score at the end of the 1st an unprecedented 10 – 0. 7 runs assisted by another David Ortiz 3 run homerun. The word electrifying gets thrown around a lot, but when Big Pappi walks to the plate every pitch could be another homerun. I wish he wasn’t so damned likeable.

Did I mention that at some point during this 1st inning the guys around me started thinking I was a client? Everyone knew about the conference I was at, because we take over Boston, so I guess that had something to do with it, and why I was sitting where I was. The better part is that Paul, the owner, decided to let me have my night. I corrected Peter the first time he asked me about how much they were making me, but Paul told me to go along with it. So, I did. I paid for nothing during the game, and they offered me everything. They wanted to buy me Sox hats, hotdogs and beers. I had regretting eating pizza at the hotel, but I did take them up on the beers.

Of course, I’m getting jabbed left and right for wearing a Rangers hat. The girls behind me started to have a little pity on me. I told them that when you’re a Rangers fan you know two things: 1. Losing is what happens, and 2. Not even a 10 run lead is safe.

I kept telling them not to get too comfortable with the offense the Rangers have, and I wasn’t wrong. Peter and his wife went to buy a round of beers with the score at 12 – 2. When they came back the Rangers had made it 12-10. I was the only one celebrating. The Sox fans were beside themselves at this point, but it wasn’t crazy, because the bottom of that inning (the 5th), the Sox tacked on 2 more runs. The Rangers have an amazing team, but stop me if you’ve heard this, no pitching.

By now you’ve heard about the rest of game, an unprecedented amount of runs were scored by both teams. The Rangers put together 13 runs in the 5th and 6th innings. The Rangers took the lead at 15 - 14, and the Red Sox took it back with a Youkilis homerun (his second of the game), and you knew the Sox would eventually win this game. I think that’s the difference between this game, and all the others I had attended. Even though the Rangers climbed back from 10 runs, you still knew the Sox would win.

Around the 6th inning, the guy behind me taps me on the shoulder and says, “Have you ever been to Fenway?” I told him no, and he says, “wait till the 8th.” I ask what happens in the 8th and he smiles and says, “All of Boston singing Sweet Caroline. Best thing in the world.”

I couldn’t tell if he was kidding, or serious, because his face seemed a bit deranged as he spoke. But, there it was the middle of the 8th, the music to Sweet Caroline starts up, and everyone stands and sings their hearts out. All my years of watching baseball, and I had no idea they sang Sweet Caroline at Fenway in the 8th. Peter, who apparently hates Sweet Caroline, refused to sing it, until it started playing. He stood up and sang like it was his favorite song.

Yeah, the Rangers lost, but the night was remarkable. After the game I went down to field level to take some photos of the Monster and whatnot. On my way down it seemed like every person I saw congratulated me on a great game. They thanked me for playing so well. That’s when I realized that they are so attached to this team they consider themselves a part of it.

And, that’s the point I realized Red Sox Nation isn’t going anywhere for a very long time, and baseball is better because of them.

Ana Beatriz Barros might not be as famous as Miranda Kerr, Adriana Lima and Alessandra Ambrosio (nor should she be), but she’s still balls hot. She’s another one of those sassy models hailing from Brazil. She’s also naked… a lot.
