I promise I’m not neglecting you guys. OK, maybe a little, but now that TheSportsBizzo is up, running and on iTunes I can re-dedicate my life to you. My sweet Toph Speaks fans.
Summer is around the corner, and with Summer comes new clothes. I’ve had no problem admitting my love of clothes, and you should feel grateful for that. Let’s admit it, you need me to tell you things you’re too afraid to ask. What to wear and when to wear it is definitely one of those things you’re too afraid to ask. Dude, no worries, I got your back.
Since it’s Summer, you should make sure you’ve got your basics covered. Make sure you have plenty of Polos. You can never go wrong with a classic polo from Ralph Lauren. I tend to like my polos in solid colors, so I’m sticking with these. If you like stripes and whatnot, then get them. I don’t want to lead you the wrong way, then get blamed when you wasted your money on a shirt that’s out of season in a year. Don’t be afraid to mess with colors this Summer. You can go a little louder than usual. Actually this is my downfall. If it’s not in navy, light blue, white or grey, then I usually don’t like it. This year, I’m going to do my best to branch out to orange, yellow, bright green and pink. Also, I picked up these awesome t-shirts from Banana Republic. They were on-sale for about $10 a piece, and you can find them here. (Since Lacoste’s site sucks, just check it here for their polos.)
Now that you’ve got some polos and few tshirts, you should move on to pants and shorts. Well, I’m not too big on wearing shorts. I look pretty ridiculous, unless I’m golfing or something. Typically, I’m either in jeans, or in Khakis. I’m going to assume that you have jeans, so let’s look at Khakis and shorts. I was alerted about this new store that I think I love called Martin + Osa. I think it’s been around for a little while, but Diabla and I just discovered it. Anyway, it’s a lot like J. Crew, which is what I like. J. Crew and Martin + Osa are where you should buy your Khakis. You can find Martin + Osa’s Khakis here, and J. Crew’s here. If you scroll down on J. Crew, you can find “summer pants” which might suit your fancy. Try going with different color pants, too. As far as shorts are concerned, I’m going to recommend the same two places. The patchwork madras are back, but I didn’t know they left. Like I said, I don’t wear shorts often, but when I do, I like them plain and Khaki. I’m fairly certain I want a pair of these. Now, for swimwear, I still don’t think you can lose with A&F. They always have badass swim trunks. I, personally, like these and these. Also, almost all of AE’s board shorts are on sale. Check it here.
Of course, when it comes to shoes in the Summer, I’m a flip-flop till I die kind of guy. This year I’m going to break out the loafers. Here’s a pretty smooth, inexpensive loafer from Steve Madden. I also like these from Steve Madden and these from J Shoes. If you don’t know that site, it’s Piperlime. Kind of like a Zappos for men and women, from Gap Inc. It’s pretty sweet.
This should catch you up to speed with casual summer clothes. Of course, going out, and things of that nature is an entirely different blog. Remember, if you’re looking for shades to check out this post. Later, sexuals.

Thanks for introducing me to Martin + Osa. And by thanks, I mean I hate you for giving me another store that is going to make my poor college student wallet even thinner. I think you owe me some money.

yeah, sorry… i assumed a few people wouldn’t appreciate learning of a new store…
why are you still in college anyways? it’s been like 8 years. graduate!

I’m going to have to disagree with that bit of Toph advice. Stay in college as long as fiscally possible. I’ve yet to find a job where attendance is optional, PJs are acceptable attire, vacations are dolled out with the expectation you land in jail, and meaningless noncommital drunken sex among coworkers is the norm. Get a few doctorates if you can.

First of all, it was 5 years. Secondly, I graduated this past Saturday thank you very much! I only have 3 1/2 more years until I’m done with school for good!!

Corey - Don’t worry, I am going back for my doctorate. I don’t have to worry about the real world for another 4 glorious years.
Toph - Well I didn’t get an invite to the wedding, so now we’re even. BTW one of the PT schools I’m looking at is in Orange. How far is that from you?

No silly I got my doctorate in sex YEARS ago from you, don’t you remember? And I only said no to the ring because I knew that you wouldn’t be able to wait 14 years for me and that la diabla would come along for ya. I was really just thinking of you…
