It’s hard to complete your wardrobe without a classic timepiece. I’ve always been a guy that has gone for the subtle, classy style when it comes to selecting my wristwatch. Unfortunately, there seems to be a movement lately to go big when it comes to wristwatches, and I’ve somehow managed to shy away from it. I plan on keeping away from it. I have found that it’s best to have two watches at all times. A leather wristwatch will compliment with your casual lifestyle, and then a silver wristwatch will compliment with your stylish, dressed up wardrobe.

When selecting a wristwatch, it’s important to look for a watch that adds to your style, not over comes it. You don’t want the watch to stand out or draw attention away from everything you’re trying to accomplish. There is simply no reason to have a calculator on your wrist, despite how awesome you look. Go for functionality and class when selecting your watch. There’s no reason to rush into purchasing a wristwatch, so take your time and be selective. You don’t want a watch that is too complicated for you, because you don’t have the time to wind it every day. Get something relatively easy to work, and fix if broken.

While you’re at it, drop some dollars on your watch. It’s not like a pair of jeans, or a dress shirt. You’re going to wear your timepiece almost everyday if you have two, or every day if you have one. I feel the same way about spending money on your phone or a nice pair shoes. If you use it more than once a week, then go big.

My recommendations? I, personally, like a rectangular watch. No one makes a better rectangular watch than Montblanc. I have no problem rolling with the Montblanc Profile XL Prower Reserve, when I’m looking for a more casual look. When it comes to my classic, suit style I roll with the Cartier Men’s Tank Francaise Watch. It’s so classy it’s disgusting.
