Why do you do this to me, Apple? I mean, sure you got me with the first iPod, but it didn’t stop there, did it? No, then you had to crawl your way in with the iPod Mini. I still wasn’t dropping the money for the iMac though, was I? Then, just when I thought my Apple spending days were behind me, you drop in and give me a free 60GB iPod Video, which lead to spending way too much money in your iTunes Store. Well, Apple, that was my limit. Until, of course, La Diabla bought me the iMac for Christmas, which lead to spending on iLife, etc.
I resisted the iPhone, Apple. I lead myself to believe that I would wait for the second generation iPhone, before I dropped $600 on it. I thought the 2nd generation would be announced today at the Keynote address, but no. (If you thought it was too early, then why was it early enough to drop the 4GB iPhone?) It was just the day that Steve Jobs announced the 8GB iPhone would be dropping $200 in price. Oh, but that’s not all. In case you needed any other Apple things, you can buy a new iPod Touch, iPod Classic, Nano and Shuffle. That’s not all either - Now you can get Wi-Fi iTunes Store on your iPod Touch and soon enough on your iPhone.
Now, you’re thinking, “Shit, what do I do now? Toph, what should I buy?” Well, if you’re like me, run out and buy the iPhone, especially if you have AT&T, like I do. Let’s talk ourselves out of buying the other crap though.
Shuffle - You don’t want the Shuffle, because you only get 250 songs. You are too sexual for that.
Nano - They made some major upgrades to it, like - it’s better built for video, has a small high density screen, and the 8 gig is only $199. Well, I have the iPod video, so I don’t need it. But, maybe you should buy it if you’re still rocking the iPod Mini.
iPod Classic - Okay, this thing is awesome. The 160 gig version is only $349, holds 40,000 songs and can run on 40 hours of battery. Wow, but again, why should I buy this when I have the iPod video? I shouldn’t. It is amazing to think that the first iPod had 1,000 songs on it, when now you can get 40,000. It debuted in 2001.
iPod Touch - I don’t need it. I don’t need it. I don’t need it. Its WiFi has to suck, and it’s $399. Most importantly, I don’t need it, but I want it and I don’t know why. Screw you, Apple.
iPhone - Okay, so I’ve waited long enough (4 months). I thought today they’d introduce the 2nd generation, and they didn’t so I should just buy it. They dropped it in price, and it’s now $399. Let’s put it this way, instead of buying the iPod Touch and keeping my craptastic Slivr, I should buy the iPhone immediately. It’s now the same price and it’s so much better. Done.
Where does this leave us? I guess with all of us who were waiting giving up and going to get the iPhone. See you at the Apple Store.

I am way too sexual for the shuffle, but I want that iTouch. I can’t explain how it will change my life. I just know it has the power to.

Toph - I just got an iPhone for my birthday. But my stupid sprint contract doesn’t run out for awhile. Is the iPhone worth keeping? Do you love yours? I know I can turn to you for these things.

i love mine more than life itself.
not being a mac fanboy or anything, but it’s the greatest piece of technology i’ve ever owned.
you’re crazy not to cancel your stupid contract immediately.
